This is something I have been working toward, alongside many others, during my entire career at Unity.
It took a lot of "hack weeks," 20% time, and other donated time to get off the ground; it came within a hair's breadth of being terminated multiple times.
We fought to keep it alive, to get it onto the release track, to keep it from being shipped with special license restrictions.
It's great to finally see our work having a public impact.
MAEK GAME? We are hiring! Maybe relevant for you?
See http://framebunker.jobs for process, contract, salary, application, and more.
Questions about us/process/visa/whatever? Private questions flow available as well.
Sweden will vote against the copyright deal including Article13/Article17 on April 15!
Heading to #GDC18 with @framebunker in a blink to talk contracting and meet publishers & investors.
We should probably meet up! :)

Did you notice? We recently updated our website with some of the content from #GAIN17
While a bunch of content is still pending approval by the various studios, a good chunk of slide decks and presenter notes are available for download right now:
This autumn, we hosted a game AI conference in Copenhagen (Game AI North). You should check out the slides from our amazing speakers: http://gameainorth.com/2017/ #gamedev
For the macOS-able people suffering under the unfortunate SourceTree “upgrade” history: Fork!
Free in beta - assuming evil monetisation once it has ensnared enough of us.
Not fully featured yet, certain teething annoyances - like no option to show text output of commands (so progress of un-integrated features like LFS is pure guesswork).
No windows build out, but one is planned (supposedly, possibly, maybe - here why don’t you let us spam your email?).
Oh, Disqus got acquired by a “create, maintain and monetize customers, using people-based, precision marketing to provide customers with enhanced multi-channel marketing solutions to help them manage the full customer life-cycle” company. Brilliant! /me goes and removes Disqus integration from the blog ;)
Life Is Strange is out on iOS:

There is a special place in hell for those who define default generic build settings different between debug and release.
For when you find yourself building a Cocoa Touch Framework:
Regardless of your build target, by default you’ll always get x86_64 output on Debug and the expected ARM output on Release.
Google collects Android users’ locations even when location services are disabled
#tools: Ah and since 08 I’ve built and maintained Behave: Visual AI designer (BT, Utility, Blackboard), compiler, and runtime remote debugger.
Initially #unity3d specific - later engine agnostic with multiple compilers and standalone IDE.
Lots of discussion topics in there like:
- Architecture
- UI
- Codegen
- Serialisation
- Debugging
- Lockless high-throughout multithreading because OMG user code interface + network streaming of state & events
#tools: Latest (maddest?) tooling I did was post-processing our .net assemblies, rewriting stuff. Because fuck convention - this is OUR code, right? ;)
#bookshelf? I’m terrible at opening analogue books, but when I do it is usually Essential Mathematics For Games & Interactive Applications (Van Verth).
I also really enjoyed The Writers Journey (Vogler).
By far my greatest source of nonfiction reading is a ton of articles and whitepapers on my Instapaper account.
Highest traffic reading is sci-fi from iBooks and stuff from ComiXology.
The joys of a mid-air engine upgrade... #ThisIsFine
