@alfredbaudisch Take care, Hetzner keeps popping in my TL because they closed some Mastodon instances for reasons I forgot and IIRC some people got charged after they closed their account, so they might not be totally clear.

@Ronflaix thanks for the heads-up. We're an agrotech/IoT company, and the reports I found online of closures go from Minecraft servers, to servers that were hacked, to people giving false names to Hetzner, etc.

But I'm making sure all of our info is correct and verified to avoid that. And of course, we already do 3-2-1 backups, so in case Hetzner deletes everything, at least our data is safe (but then everything would be bust and offline for who knows how many hours).

@Ronflaix now I can't unsee the bad reviews of Hetzner. The ones related to "sudden account closure" are way too many for it to be "isolated". That made me very uncomfortable.

Not worried about data loss due to offsite backups, but if they suddenly close our account, that could mean a business downtime of 10-24h.

Already considering OVHCloud, or other options before finishing the Hetzner setup. Suddenly the $2.4k Heroku bill does not seem so expensive anymore [apart from the huge constraints].
