My kingdom for a distro with smooth cross-installation (preparing a rootfs for a foreign architecture without qemu).

For cross-install without qemu I guess you'd want something like Alpine, in fact pmbootstrap literally is a tool for a cross-install.

@wolf480pl I like buildroot, but in this case I couldn't use it, as I need a package manager on the target.

@wolf480pl now that I'm at a computer and not a phone, I see that Buildroot doesn't support generating and tracking packages, so it wouldn't quite fit. Hopefully I'll remember OpenWRT next time the need arises!
