...and now I've found out about @Bluesky@twitter.com. Still skeptical.

Furiously writing for @chrismdp this afternoon. I'm on a bit of a rant today on estimates and planning.

Back to mastodon for a bit. Really want this to gain more traction. If only twitter would implement activitypub (but then that’s never going to happen)

There's a free open source app for @pixelfed under development called PixelDroid. You can follow it here:

I'm curious about the general #Corona vibe on Mastodon.

Twilight Imperium 4 fans... is there a video somewhere telling the introduction backstory? Would love to send it to friends to get them excited about the game!

Just took 90 seconds to remove them. Wish I'd done that in 2012.

Just realised I've had 24G of EBS volumes sitting unused on AWS, connected to stopped instances... for _eight years_. Cost me about a dollar a month. 🤦‍♂️

im really starting to prefer mastodon over twitter

i used to be really into having the newest computer gadget. now i use refurbished hardware. it's so much cheaper. it lasts. it reduces landfill waste. it's great, and i don't really feel like i am missing out on much tech-wise.

here are some tips if you need tech stuff but don't want to spend a lot of money, support horrible companies, and such (1/n)

I'm surprised more people aren't talking about microblog.pub. Seems like an admirable project.

If you’re not in my particular niche communities, you might not know about the community that exists around old ThinkPad laptops. But I’m going to tell you about it, because I think it’s awesome!

ThinkPad laptops from years ago are enduringly popular, because they have great support from free software, and they’re extremely repairable.

Not only are new or used parts extremely easy to come by, people are even designing new parts for these old machines, so you can upgrade rather than replace!

Apple joins Google, Facebook, Twitter, Microsoft, Mastodon, and others in data-sharing project theverge.com/2019/7/30/2074686

The goal is to (finally!) build simple tools to move your photos, posts, contacts, and other data between services.

Next stop is probably hosting my own mastodon instance. Or perhaps a Pixelfed instance for gamedevs.
