I see Apple has tried to defend their removal of apps (mostly games) which haven’t been updated in a while, by saying they haven’t been downloaded enough lately. What a load of BS. The App Store is the *only way* software is available for iOS, and therefore has a duty of preservation. But they only care about how much money you can make them. Don’t make software for abusive platforms like this if you can help it. https://developer.apple.com/news/?id=gi6npkmf
Adjusted the vignette mask for the blur and its radius, now I have something a bit more subtle.
Decided to do a little break from the map system and instead add a new postprocess pass (circular blur), because I never have enough of them, all while watching one of my guilty pleasure movie: The Core. :D
Well, @_benui asked about an old blog post and what I may do now for a mission, objective , and quest system. I gave a long winded answer. So naturally I went and pushed a project to share that I had kind of forgotten about. This one is a bit complex and actually has some editor plugins. This adds a method to create rich quests, objectives, and missions to your game. Rife with condition checks, editor tooling, and a rewards system. https://github.com/hollsteinm/UE4-Quest-Objective-Mission-Plugin

This was also made back in 2018 when I was still messing around with Substance Painter, It's still a favorite project of mine

A sincere tip for longtime fediverse people who would like their friends to stick around here longer than a week:
If you're on Mastodon or Hometown, you can click the "bell" icon in the profile of someone you follow. This will make it so that every time they post, it will appear in your notifications like an "@". I am enabling this temporarily for friends so that I remember to interact with them. This is important for making this place feel more lively and helps people stick around!

I figure I could do an #introductions too.
I'm Froyok / Fabrice Piquet, and I have been working on Substance Painter for almost 8 years, initially at Allegorithmic and now at Adobe.
In my spare time I play with the Unreal Engine, experiment with shaders and sometimes draw stuff. So it's mostly tech art oriented. :)
From time to time, I write articles on my website, often about Unreal: https://www.froyok.fr/articles.html

Hey I'm Chris, I work as a 2D games artist and illustrator. In my spare time I love drawing for my own fantasy world.
Really interesting approach, but I wonder how well it could expand to more complex 2D characters. 🤔

FYI for newbies
Twitter has algorithms to get you engaged. Mastodon does not. So in order to enjoy Mastodon you have to take some time to reach out and find content and follow folks that you enjoy. Don't expect Mastodon to send you random popular posts to keep you engaged, you have to curate your own feed. But this is good! It gives you control.
I write and explore stuff on Unreal Engine but also do little projects with Love2D. Speaking French/English.
