When I first started at Lucasfilm, George shaved his beard so he could go watch the rerelease of StarWars and not be recognized. So the first time I met him he didn't have his iconic beard, I felt ripped off.
@grumpygamer i wonder if this has ever happened with a kid going to see a Mall Santa
@grumpygamer This caused me to image search what he looks like shaved and... That's just not natural.
@grumpygamer I remember reading about this! I've heard rumors that it was because he was briefly dating Linda Rondstadt: https://swtorstrategies.com/2024/12/george-lucas-without-a-beard-the-plot-twist-no-one-saw-coming.html
@grumpygamer oooh that's why ! I thought it was because he was working with Disney on Star Tours and they don't allowed beard
@grumpygamer Ain't that something?
@grumpygamer I don't know. I mean ... I would.
@grumpygamer he made me feel that too: it was called “The Phantom Menace.”
I regretfully admit that those edited photos remind me of myself - not putting on the glasses unless I need to, bald, and refusing to grow a beard or even a goatee.
We're all the same
@grumpygamer Just re-imagine your memories as befits your intended vision.
