So! After some years of being fairly "unofficial", Unity editor for Linux is more official now. You can just get it via Unity Hub, like regular Windows/Mac editors. blogs.unity3d.com/2019/05/30/a

writing a file system watcher for the demo engine. Linux: piece of cake, less work than I expected. Port to Windows: fml (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

Read this. This article pretty summarizes what I see every day. And when I criticize it, half of the audience doesn't understand my point. They are simply to young and grew up with smart phones and fast lines.

this is Betty Holberton. she invented the concept of breakpoints for debugging. ever heard of her? you probably haven't, because our field sucks ass and constantly erases its own history.

have I mentioned how much I hate coder tests?

finally completed the coder test (it's no longer completely broken and I also meet the perf + mem criteria). Now to see if I can iron out the behavior difference vs. the reference and then SIMD-fy the shit out of it!

had a massage this morning, masseuse said that I sit in front of the computer too much. And here I am, working on a coder test...

reviewed a CL where a junior coder fixed a bug where we called virtual functions in a ctor (not my code!)... nice catch, but he fixed it by creating a factory template, proudly proclaiming in a comment that that's the way to solve the issue (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ This is why we can't have nice things!
(as I said, a junior, so all is forgiven. And it's no longer a template)

@hugin OK, not "instead", would still have to do the coder test...

dear imgui 1.61 released: better double/u64/s64/u32 support, better %e/%g formats support, .ini loading/saving from/to memory, merging sparse overlapped fonts, safe area padding fixes, columns fixes etc.. github.com/ocornut/imgui/relea

just wanted to remove the last 3 memmove/memcpy calls from my GrowingArray... that was about 2h ago, I'm now in the middle of a refactor + fix session, realized I never destroyed "reallocated" items. I did overwrite their memory, though, so at least we'd crash on use.

other company, after a phone interview and a video conf interview: "we'd usually send you a coder test next, but our technical director would like to talk to you face to face instead."
when did I become so popular and sought after? :-O (not complaining ^^)
