Discord is nuking Nintendo Switch emulator devs and their entire servers - https://www.theverge.com/2024/4/11/24127545/discord-suyu-sudachi-server-shutdown-account-ban
Please stop using Discord for... well, anything. Development work, organising, friendly hangouts. But especially anything legally grey or which might even conceivably be against a large company's corporate interests.
Get a Matrix or Signal room, host an IRC channel. Use something else.
With encryption and/or a server you control.
EDIT: okay, look, this post has gone far outside my usual sphere of communication and I'm not very comfortable with that, so I'm trimming it and muting it. I'm sure you're all lovely, but I'm a somewhat-managed ball of anxiety. Be nice to each other.

Do you have a reference for that? I can't find one.
Discord also works with ggwp and others to give social credit scores to users and tie their gaming and social network accounts. They’re much worse than people even think.
@mdiluz I saw its results for work related reasons, so not without getting myself in shit, I'm afraid.
You're welcome to chalk this up to the dubious source of "trust me, bro" and move on. I genuinely wasn't expecting this post to have the reach it's obtained.
@HauntedOwlbear hah yeah curious to see if anything like that comes out properly. I ain't gonna call you a liar tho! Thanks for raising awareness.
