Terrible but thought provoking: There is a virus trolley heading down the tracks. You can change its course.
Do nothing, and the trolley and virus hits no one.
Pull the lever, and 5.000 die from the virus but 50.000 fewer people die from pollution.
I'm in no way celebrating the virus or the death it causes. It's terrible!
I do however think that the large degree of shutdown of consumerism we're seeing may be quite a good thing overall.
