This is what open source really looks like: you are berated until they realize they really do have a bug, then they tell you to fix it after calling you incompetent.

@shram86 it really depends on the project, and in general they are quite binary, either they're very welcoming and open or they will nitpick the hell out of your PR until you give up.

I had both experiences, not sure which one is more common, but I'm afraid I can guess the answer.

@Sh41 My biggest issue is when you join a new chat, ask what you believe to be a well formulated question, and you get dismissed out of an assumption your code is just wrong

Happens frequently and I don't bother contributing to those projects.
