spimort

Well, we are at 400k views for my mario open world video made with Godot 😎 That's INSANE!

@spimort I hope you're working quickly because Nintendo will absolutely issue a DMCA now that your project is gaining popularity. Tread carefully!

@popcar2 let's hope they don't! It a non monetized video and the game won't be published anywhere so I hope the video can still stay alive 🤞

@spimort No one tell N i n t e n d o because this is awesome🤫

@spimort nintendo is like, rushing towards you with a nuclear arsenal of lawyers

@subwoofer let's hope they don't, I want to live!

@spimort did you run into performance issues?
Quality wise I guess rendering is ultra simple, but quantity wise it's such a huge world that maybe you had to split it into chunks, unless you have a really good GPU (or Godot improved since last time I tried making so much grass)?

@cagibidev performances where quite good, considering I did nothing to improve them! For example, the terrain was just one big mesh made in blender, not the best. And the grass was always rendered even if you were far! And it was fine.

There are a lot of stuff I could do to improve the overall world, but again it was easily playable 🙂

@spimort They're coming... Nintendo lawyers!!!!!! (nice work, btw)

What Spimort made here is really cool. Loved the video. The shading of the grass in the thumbnail is a bit weird tho. Also I found it a bit weird how the open world plane doesn't have the mario64 grass texture on it.. but that's just my opinion.
