So, as a way of letting folks here know more about me, I thought I'd post about the best game (so far) I've made. I have worked on some high profile titles when I was in the games industry, but they weren't MY games.
Extrication is very much my own creation. It's just a simple point-and-click in a retro style, but i'm still very proud of it. I have still lots to learn about storytelling, art and design, but I really enjoy it!
Extrication can be downloaded for free here: https://mattiasgustavsson.itch.io/extrication
Here is my flooded village concept with some quick shaders thrown onto. Already way better than the line-art crap imo ;P

Programmer art ahoy, but I've had a go at some pixel art ground for a game I'm working on. Quite pleased with that as a first pass.
Plus GMS2's auto-tiling is really helpful for getting it all in place!
Howdy all. If you enjoy point & click adventures, I made a short free one called "Kith: Tales from the Fractured Plateaus", which you can find on Steam http://store.steampowered.com/app/596710/Kith__Tales_from_the_Fractured_Plateaus/ and on Itch.io https://screwylightbulb.itch.io/kith-tales-from-the-fractured-plateaus-issue-1
Also please consider supporting its future (and mine) by helping me out on my poorly marketed Patreon https://www.patreon.com/jacog
There are several small projects this goes towards, but also helping me claw my way back to life after a health scare last Dec.
Today's "Game dev is so exciting" I'm putting some different shaped walls down to see what feels nicest to slide around.
And in the game.
#introductions Hi hey I'm Breogan! I was on the mastodon.social instance since way last year some time but I've decided to move here.
I'm a 21 year old queer game dev. You can find my games at https://boaheck.itch.io/ . I'm always making something weird so keep your eyes out for me repeatedly tooting my new games when they release.
Let it be known that limitations on what you can include in a game in regards to inclusivity are self-imposed 90% of the time and you can 100% change that shit.
Still doing this. Whose bright idea was making games anyway?
Brilliant article!
Indiepocalypse Now by Paolo Pedercini
And in the game.
Tweaking movement. It's all very exciting.
Nope, too slidey.
Nope, not slidey enough.
Wheee, spinny but unplayable.
etc...
Been trying to do more interviews with indie devs that aren't super success stories. It's been interesting to see how their reactions vary. This one I thought had a good outlook on things: http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2017-11-14-why-didnt-jettomero-take-off https://mastodon.social/media/tJMKXUqaH467bke93ns
It's still bloody chilly out.
