Is boosting too much annoying?
Whenever I like some post I boost to show appreciation.
I also mean to raise the post reach, but that doesn't usually happen because my network is not very big and is quite diverse.
Btw, is there a hashtag for fediverse best practices? In case your in doubt about the etiquette/manners recommended.
@vinnie the thing about Fediverse is that since there's no algorithm, following and boosting are the only ways posts can spread around.
If people complain about boosting, they're doing themselves and Fedi a disservice.
Also, people can hide boosts from any person whenever they want. Though, I don't like to do that because of the first statement. No boosts ever = not many posts.

*:The reason I find boosts annoying is because mastodon is a bit buggy when the feeds have boosts disabled. I wouldn't have a problem otherwise.

Bingo, and if someone doesn't like it, it's easy to turn boosts off per account.
For smaller instances, it's the life blood of stuff normally outside of our reach.
