Still recovering from the injury in my right leg. Feeling better/stronger each day.

I've been monitoring my Ground Contact Balance using a Garmin HR monitor (it has sensors for that). Not perfect I'm sure, but interesting how it can track my recovery: my balance went to shit after the injury (my left foot stays on the ground ~4% longer than my right), but is now recovering linearly over the past 3 runs.

Super interesting IMO, first time I've had this sort of data points to analyze.

Still at this, using a combination of sensors (Garmin HRM/Garmin Pod, Stryd Duo).

I suppose there's a ton of noise (depending on ground inclination?) but things are getting better. Probably?

It feels like I can run a lot, but I'm trying to be conservative so I don't screw things up. Currently targeting 15-20 miles per week, about half my "normal" volume from before.

Last post on this subject. My GCT Balance seems back to normal in runs of all paces, so I'll assume I'm recovered. Hooray!

I'm still not 100% power/HR wise, but that comes with time.

For now, continuing with training and added strength training ~3x/week.

I still need to decide whether to defer my NYC Marathon entry... I've lost ~5 weeks of training, with about 9 weeks to go. I know I won't be at my best, but might be able to just "take it easy" and enjoy it. Will decide next month...

You might notice I've also been using Stryd (duo) on the runs: stryd.com/

It's the fancy new sensor for runners. Quick review:

1. Pretty expensive
2. Great for real time pace (faster, & works under scaffoldings)
3. Probably great for power training
4. Separate ecosystem/subscription is icky
5. Lots of new metrics that don't feel super useful TBQH

Verdict: maybe too expensive of a toy unless one is really focused in training by power. I only use HR/pace instead, so I have a bias.
