Robin FRANÇOIS 💿<p>First, I have to talk about <a href="https://digipres.club/tags/Aaru" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Aaru</span></a>, the imaging tool similar to GuyMager or Isobuster. In addition to imaging, the tools also can convert from various image formats to other formats, and can perform filesystem identification and sometimes, file extraction.</p><p>The project is also actively looking for new developers to join in to help Natalia "claunia" Portillo (the main developer).</p><p><a href="https://aaru.app" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">aaru.app</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p>
Robin FRANÇOIS 💿<p>After last week floppy imaging workshop at <a href="https://digipres.club/tags/iPres2024" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>iPres2024</span></a>, <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://digipres.club/@Thorsted" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>Thorsted</span></a></span> sent us a small challenge: extracting the photos of the workshop taken with its floppy disk camera. He already imaged the floppy and provided us with the flux files to perform the extraction.</p><p>My small writeup for this challenge:<br>1. Started from the HFE file ( could also start from the Kryoflux files). Used HxC to open it and convert it to a RAW IMG file<br>2. Used <a href="https://digipres.club/tags/Aaru" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Aaru</span></a> to list filesystems and extract files. Voilà!</p>
SuperSakura<p>New game now completable in SuperSakura dev-branch: Rose Blood (<a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/Aaru" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Aaru</span></a>, 1996). Supports both Windows and <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/PC98" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>PC98</span></a> version of the game, although no music on the PC98 one. It&#39;s a kind of detective thriller. Was a bit tricky to get the palette-swap tech to work for night-time backgrounds, but somehow I got it to look fine. ^^;</p>
Robin FRANÇOIS 💿<p>Since I moved recently to the digipres.club instance, a short <a href="https://digipres.club/tags/introduction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>introduction</span></a> is necessary. (thread 1/2)</p><p>I'm Robin FRANÇOIS, from France but now living in Switzerland. With almost 10 years in IT security, I work now as a digital archivist at the Cinémathèque suisse (Swiss National Film Archive).</p><p>I have been investing some time on data storage media, through which I discovered the <a href="https://digipres.club/tags/Aaru" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Aaru</span></a> software for imaging/analysing media. I am also part of the <a href="https://digipres.club/tags/Aaru" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Aaru</span></a> Technical Committee.</p>
