Audacity 3.7.2 Released with Ubuntu AppImage Fix + More

Open source audio editor Audacity has issue a new patch release with a sizeable set of bug fixes, including an appreciable one for Ubuntu users using the official Audacity AppImage. Audacity 3.7.2, the second point update in the currently Audacity 3.7.x series that debuted in October of last year, fixes FFmpeg loading in its official AppImage when run on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS (and Linux distributions based on it). Audacity’s noise reduction filter regains its “Residue” option thanks to a community contribution, and no longer screws up pasting content from a clip by offsetting the beginning, and now warns when trying

After a very long search for sound effects and even more long conversion process to Amiga #8svx format using #Audacity , I finally started to add sounds to the game!
- Footsteps of the hero added (looping sound)
- Jump sound added

A bit tricky to handle sounds, especially looping sounds but I did it and YES! It works!

gosh I wish I could manage to have a shortcut somewhere on the left side of my keyboard to delete audio in #audacity

would be nice to be able to have the mouse in the right hand and do the rest (pause, scroll, zoom delete) with the left hand.

I can't change the shortcuts, or get audacity to accept the changes.

oh my god I'm in the middle of doing some measurements which involves recording audio and suddenly #audacity is refusing to record anything from my external sound card, saying "Error opening sound device. Error code: 0 Success"

Then once it started working again it crashed as I tried to stop the recording

Clicking "send" in the crash report window opens up an error dialog, "Failed to send crash report"

…Is there a similar tool to Audacity that's a bit less completely broken?

What is going on with the new compression effect in #Audacity ? I have really figured out how to normalize the volume of my recordings with the old built-in compressor, now this new one looks more fancy and I have no idea how to make it work properly.
