"Lyft offered to pay him $6.08 for a 9.2-mile ride in Merced that the company estimated would take 29 minutes to complete, including the pickup. That amounts to about $12.58 an hour, and doesn’t account for his gasoline costs or the wear and tear on his car."

FWIW, at the IRS milage rate for 2024 of $0.67/mile, the cost of driving 9.2 miles is $6.16 - meaning a loss of 8 cents for the trip.

Please urge your state repesentatives to support AB1340.

April 17: From twitter, former Aus law enforcement @strangerous10:

“Michael Sukkar (#Liberal, Opposition Housing) turns down (ABC730) Sarah Ferguson’s final offer to let public know how many houses he plans to build & can’t stop Clare O’Neil (#Labor Housing Minister) from correcting the record. Calls out the “absolute garbage” from Sukkar that #LNP built 13,000 homes, reveals it’s in fact about “350”🤦‍♂️#abc730🔥

In the last job I worked as an editor for a law firm, I remember figuring out how to see when others were watching the document I was editing (supposedly without my knowledge) and how angry it made me that I wasn't even asked to consent to being randomly observed.

I want to hear from others who have felt the same about being surveiled and evaluated at work when it was unhelpful. If you relate, and don't have to hide online too from bosses, please share.

Day 19 💲

“Everyone should be paid a #FairWage for the #work they complete and it is time for the major parties to commit to this meaningful change for people with disability.

#People with #disability are being overlooked and left behind in the major party policy promises this election campaign.

… The answer to getting more people with disability into work is not to allow #CheapLabour, it’s to ensure we are funding #employment services that actually work, which allow people with disability to connect with work they find #meaningful and also gives them the opportunity to build their capacity to perform those roles.” — #DavidPocock

#DOGE assigned to work at agency where it illegally removed data

The ad hoc Department of Govt Efficiency team is assigning 2 staffers to work at the independent agency where a #whistleblower alleged Tues DOGE may have already removed sensitive #labor #data from its systems.

Just 1 day after #NPR reported on the disclosure filed by whistleblower Daniel #Berulis, DOGE reps visited NLRB’s office in DC for a meeting.

#dutton promises 12 new #technical colleges attached to existing high schools and the conservative #media and #abc put it up like it something shiny and new. We have them, they were destroyed by #Howard and #labor bought them back….they are called #tafe.

Look them up, all the states have been building them because the morons who voted for #howard destroyed our apprentice system and outsourced it all to unregulated private firms who provided unqualified people.

#DanielJones, who has served as a bodyguard to #FarRight figure #AviYemini, said on #SocialMedia on Wednesday that he had walked unchallenged into the hotel lobby before he confronted #Albanese and asked him questions about #immigration.

Jones, a self-proclaimed self-defence #expert, has previously posted online that people should “train to make it easy to be able to #kill”.”

Show me people who #ASIO and #ASIS take an interest in?

When the DG of the Intelligence services talks about foreign influence, this is what it looks like. What foreign country paid our proclaimed SME for this kind of political action?

“Multiple #FederalPolice officers now flank #Albanese and #Dutton at press conferences. They’re not worried about the questions – both men mangle the English language enough to defuse any threat they may pose.

The police are concerned about the #PhysicalThreat. The person willing to shout angrily, to get in the face of the men vying to be the next PM, to win a few minutes of fame on #SocialMedia for their cause. Or, to the most #extreme end, something much worse.”
