📚️ Tomb Raider 1 is a 3D objective-view adventure game (published in 1996) starring Lara Croft, a British archaeologist. 📚️ UnCiv is a ~ libre (icons & sounds not all libre), multi-platform, single-player / multi-player (by exchange of "User ID"), turn-based strategy game (4X) & Empire building, inspired by Civilization V: the game starts in 4000 BC Christ, the player directs a nation or an ethnic group, with the aim of supremacy over the other protagonists, leading his group until 2050 AD. It's a neat game that offers in-game help to get started, solo/multiplayer, map editor and game save / load. Very good!

The player is Kyle Katarn, a Rebel Alliance mercenary who helped destroy the Death Star 1 year earlier by recovering its plans. 📚️ Quake 2 is the 2nd episode of the series, and an FPS in which the player is Bitterman, a Marine taking part in a counter-offensive of the Earthlings on the planet Stroggos. Most of the soldiers are captured or killed during their approach. Bitterman crashes outside the planned area and is forced to infiltrate the Stroggs' capital alone. Yamagi Quake II is an open source, single/multi (offline co-op), multi-platform port that emphasizes gameplay and graphics fidelity while offering its modernization (OpenGL 3.2, 64-bit, multi-screen support, 7.1 stereo sound, ...). Moreover it offers a good installer that takes care of the automatic loading of the shareware version to get started. A very good tool, easy to use.

🕶️ Its UI with a strategy game. The central part is occupied by a map divided into hexagons with pixelart units. The period is medieval, several Mongol units & a trebuchet surround a castle in the center. The units have an icon for easy understanding (mongol, sword, trebuchet, ..), slightly transparent when not selected. The Mongol on horseback on the right of the castle is selected. The castle (named Elephantine) seems to be under siege. On the left of the UI several command buttons (Sleep, Pillage Pasture, Explore, Wait, ..), below the characteristics of the selected unit (Keshik, 2 stars, XP 5/20, ..), in the lower middle a box with what seems to be a report on the selected unit (Keshik vs Elephantine). To the right of the UI, a message area ("The resistance in Sydney has ended!", ..), lower right a mini map. At the top of the interface a hamburger menu, and near it the title "Mongolia". At the top middle several indicators, the period (1520 AD) and on the right an "Overview" button.

📚️ UnCiv is a ~ libre (icons & sounds not all libre), multi-platform, single-player / multi-player (by exchange of "User ID"), turn-based strategy game (4X) & Empire building, inspired by Civilization V: the game starts in 4000 BC Christ, the player directs a nation or an ethnic group, with the aim of supremacy over the other protagonists, leading his group until 2050 AD. It's a neat game that offers in-game help to get started, solo/multiplayer, map editor and game save / load. Very good !

📚️ STAR WARS Dark Forces 1 is an FPS (released in 1995, LucasArts studio) with puzzle and strategy elements, set in the Star Wars universe, starting a little before the events of the 1st film and continuing 1 year after. The player is Kyle Katarn, a Rebel Alliance mercenary who helped destroy the Death Star 1 year earlier by recovering its plans. Now he's been hired once again to investigate the Galactic Empire's secret Dark Trooper project, a project to develop powerful battle droids and high-strength stormtroopers. The Force Engine is a libre, multi-platform engine that is compatible with, and extensively enhanced by, modern hardware support and improved rendering.

📚️ Space Station 14 is a libre, multi-platform online sandbox action RPG (derived from the game Space Station 13, which it improves and liberates) where players live aboard a space station, all with great freedom of action and scenarios (depending on the servers). Some players play as members of the space station, with different roles assigned, others are assigned antagonistic roles, with the objective of disrupting the station's mission. It can also be played as a simple shooter on the same station! Excellent!

📚️ Gabriel Knight 3: Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned (GK3) is the 3rd installment (released in 1999) in 3D and objective view, of a series of adventure games (in 4 installments) featuring the eponymous protagonist, a New Orleans writer who, to revive his inspiration and help his friend Inspector Mosely, investigates a series of homicides dubbed by the press "the voodoo murders". His investigations lead him to discover that he is the descendant of a line of "Schattenjäger" (shadow hunters) who fight these shadowy beings (by cunning, as they have no powers). This 3rd opus takes him to a village in Languedoc, France, in an investigation that links up with the story of the Grail, the Templar Treasure and the Cathars. G-Engine is a libre, multi-platform, compatible engine currently under development (not yet complete and with bugs).
