#Trump said he doesn’t know #TrevorMilton but was told that the way Milton was treated by the justice system was “very unfair.”

“And they say the thing that he did wrong was he was one of the first people that supported a gentleman named Donald Trump for president,” Trump said. 🤮🤮🤮

Trump also said he acted after receiving some “fantastic recommendations”about Milton.[💰]

the #TrevorMilton (#Nikola Motor fraudster) pardon is not going over well with the #MAGA crypto bros, many of whom were scammed by... Trevor Milton (which should be unsurprising - these are gullible people who love trading meme stocks, AKA “the primary market for #NKLA shares”).

Tesla bros are also pissed, because Milton's whole scam was basically pretending to be Elon Musk for trucks.

"[Trevor Milton] did nothing wrong and he's a good person." - Donald Trump

"Trevor Milton donated $1.8 million to Trump and his lawyer is #PamBondi's brother." - me

The fraudster behind Nikola Motors (the fake electric truck company that made the famous video purporting to be their flagship tractor trailer moving under electric power that turned out to be just an empty truck chassis rolling down a hill) has been pardoned by Donald Trump.

I've been using Nikola - getnikola.com/ for my two blogs for the last few years, and I'm finding the mechanics cumbersome.

I thought it was just a matter of acclamating, but it's not. It's been quite a while and quite a number of posts, and it's not getting any easier.

My needs are so minimal, I'm thinking I should maybe look into moving to another static site generator.

Hugo is what all the cool kids are using, but when I look at it I get intimidated by the whole go module based theme thing and ... Uck. I just need something utterly DUMB ASS simple.

Does anyone use something like this that they like? Am I over-inflating Hugo's complexity?

The truth is I was a pretty happy Wordpress user back in the day, but I was an idjit and ran my site poorly so it got knocked over by a script kiddie.

Nikola · Static Site GeneratorNikola — Static Site Generator. In goes content, out comes a website, ready to deploy.

Thinking about transitioning my #blogging from #nikola to #mkdocs

Nikola is great but I've always felt like writing in Markdown is an also ran use case, as its native lingua franca is my long time nemesis #restructuredtext (Hate hate HATE! :) ).

mkdocs is built from the ground up to be super simple. Give it a pile of Markdown and it'll generate a site. There's a nice plugin for generating a blog:

@SteveDuncan #nikola I have a workflow in mind that simply prepares posts as markdown documents, and defer actually posting them until I'm at my laptop. But in practice I haven't even done that because it's just seems such a needless hassle to even write them on a phone. If was away from a real keyboard for more than 8 hours more often than twice a year then maybe I would care?

For simple edits though, GitHub UI, with an action that does the publish step.
