Pretty was a bit shy when she first came to the shelter, but she’s all settled in now and this cutie is friendly, sweet, and SUPER playful!! She loves to bounce and frolic with her kennelmate and jumps around the play yard like a baby lamb in a field of grass!

“Pretty has really come out of her shell! Friendly, sweet and silly- a very fun girl to spend time with. She loves to run all around the play yard, jumping for joy and trying to get her kennelmate to play.”

“Nico is a LOVER!! It was my first time meeting him yesterday. He barked at me as I opened the door to his kennel but was easy to leash overall. Nico was an easy, wonderful walking buddy...had the cutest trot as we walked around the park. I knelt down to pet him at one point and he immediately approached for pets and put his entire body in my lap! He gave lots of kisses and was sweet and confident. He’s such a wonderful boy!”

Nico is our resident crotchety old man type- he can give a bit of a “get off my lawn” kind of vibe in his kennel, but he’s all talk- he’s one of the most affectionate dogs in the shelter and is a HUGE volunteer favorite!

“Nico is a gentle sweetheart. Why anyone gave this sweet guy up is beyond me. He was wonderful to everyone he met. Always curious about his surroundings. Likes squeaky toys and treats. A perfect gentleman!”

Sometimes dogs come into the shelter and actually improve over time, becoming more confident as the result of receiving tender care from staff and volunteers. Little Gaby is one of these dogs! She was quite scared when she first came to us, but her sunny personality is shining through as she is becoming more and more comfortable with shelter routines!
