Rocky Linux, Arch Linux and Debian. I assume many recognize these Linux distributions and likely use them everyday.
Despite their differences they share something in common. They rely on Oregon State University's Open Source Lab for part of their infrastructure.

@BoxyBSD was always for BSD based systems only. I focussed to push the whole BSD community and to encourage people to try BSD based systems (such like #FreeBSD. #NetBSD, #OpenBSD, etc.) but I'm not sure if it might provide more value to the whole #opensource community by also supporting #Linux systems (such like #Debian, #Ubuntu, #RockyLinux, #SuSe and more).
I'm not sure if the #BoxyBSD project still provides a value for the community right, now.
What do you think?

I want to compile some stuff (OpenRV) without tainting my system. So I‘ve tried creating a virtual machine on a spare mini PC using Redhat‘s web-based Cockpit admin interface. It‘s a frontend to libvirt and so far it all works flawlessly.
Really cool to not have to rely on proprietary VMware tools.
Maybe @rockylinux will update the rsync package to „rsync 3.4“ in 2025, maybe not #linux #rhel #RockyLinux

That's so freaking weird lol... on one of my #Proxmox nodes, I had started a test VM (#RockyLinux/#RHEL), and I was installing a single package on it, and for wtv reason that ended up powering off ALL other VMs on that Proxmox node other than that one test node.
I've never had this happen before in my #homelab, on Proxmox or #ESXi, but it's incredibly concerning for sure lol. I have some critical stuffs on it too like my #TrueNAS server, some of #Kubernetes nodes, etc. and to have them just... power off like that without any alerts or logs explaining it, not on the GUI anyway, is insane.
