Making of bag straps.
Pattern is from the book Applesies and Fox Noses - Finnish Tabletwoven Bands and it's called Corners of fox nose gardens.
I love these names that the patterns have in this book
Thank you for the authors Mervi Pasanen and Maikki Karisto.
This week starts with custom work. Pattern is varied from Iron Age grave finds from Kaarina Kirkkomäki, Finland.
When I learned about a technique called tablet weaving in 2015, I immediately knew I wanted to use it for guitar straps. 10 years later, I'm still making guitar straps, and I've been lucky enough that almost all the straps I've made have found a guitar for carry.

Latvian tablet-woven band from the book Celaines - Celu jostu un apaudu aušana, Lilija Balgalve-Treimane (2018)
This is how I start a new tablet-woven band.
Cutting and putting the warps on the tablets.
I know there is probably as many ways to do this as there is weavers and this is just how I do it. Hope you get some advice from this
Hey! I'm tablet weaver from Finland. In this page I will post my on-going works, custom crafts and finished products. I also share little about my life in small cottage in the middle of Finnish forest and my perspective in world. Now the first thing I have to do is get inside this Mastodon.
Feel free to contact me. I am happy to sell my weaving items and I make custom work also.
I don't know how many there are here that share my love for tablet weaving, but just in case you're one of them and have the opportunity to visit Nyköping:

My main gripe is that I wanted to see more of them

Anyone here use https://marginalia-search.com/ ? Non-commercial, privacy oriented… I was delightfully startled to search “weaving” on there as a test and have a few #tabletWeaving results come up.
Lots of little dragon heads: This tablet woven trim is inspired by a 10th century textile fragment from Dublin. It is not a faithful reconstruction of the original. While the original is woven in brocade technique, this trim has been woven with 2 threads per tablet. It resembles the motive pretty well, though: double dragon heads, hence called Dublin Dragons.
