Today I’m continuing work on my new collage: “Girl with a Pearl Earring”.
I’ve combined a photo of Vermeer’s original painting, a house wall I photographed in Stuttgart-Mitte, and my own drawings. I used various Procreate brushes for overpainting, and the collage will also serve as a découpage and a negative for cyanotypes.

Van Gogh and the Rijksmuseum

After waking up at the Apollo, we had breakfast & visited the Rijksmuseum for our timed entry. After, we had lunch at the Albert Cuyp Markt before visiting the Van Gogh Museum. We ended the day with a Suriname cuisine dinner.

After spending the morning there, we had lunch at the Albert Cuyp Markt before visiting the Van Gogh Museum, where we stayed until closing time. We ended the day with a Suriname cuisine dinner followed by a walk back to the Apollo.

Movie night last night was 2019 movie, The Last Vermeer with Claes (Clash) Bang, Guy Pearse, and others. A true story, typically juiced up for the movie but still real enough. Top notch performances all around, and a great story to boot.

I'll basically watch any movie with a connection to the art world and Clash Bang now, since The Square and Burnt Orange Heresy. It seems to be a signal to "watch this".
