What I love in X over all the other games so much is that you can actually role play your character. As in you're always prompted in how you wanna reply to something. Not just yes/no answers, but you can be a complete chaos gremlin and I am spiraling completely out of control.

X must be the first game in the series that just gave me an honest to god sneaking mission. Made for lvl 20 characters, filled with lvl 40-50 monsters. But each one has different aggro triggers - sight, sound, etc. So right now I'm Solid Snaking my way into a fortress.

Having such a wonderful time with X right now, holy shit. It's different from the other games in a few ways, but there are also so many similarities - esp. the theme of making the world a better place, forging alliances, friendships. I thought X was the exception here. Glad I was wrong.

Really enjoying X so far. But it does feel like a spin off. Less because of the story/setting but due to its structure:

Having a central city makes the world seem much smaller than it is and the adventure less like a journey. Most of the quests start there. SO MANY of them accessible without having to do much story which - if you play like that - makes the progression feel odd. Gating more side missions (esp higher level ones) behind story progress would have helped the flow.

It's kinda funny that because Nintendo put online play behind a paywall for the Switch, X on the Switch has no more content locked behind online play compared to the WiiU version. At least to the best I can tell.

And here you all think that paid online services have no good side. HAH!

(ofc I'm just kidding, I'd love to play online, but I am happy X is more enjoyable offline now).

X is a game where humans find themselves on an alien planet and other sentient/advanced aliens just speak their language.

Now it wouldn't be the first time a Xenoblade game just dangles an upcoming plot twist right in front of your face just to hit you with it 200 hours later, but for now my head-canon is:

The game opens with a Pioneer plaque floating in space. That's probably how they learned the language, found earth and destroyed it.

So: I bought a physical copy of #Xenoblade Chronicles X from Nintendo.com; it arrived 3 days later. I plugged it into my Switch, launched it, and started playing without having to download any additional data.

MORE OF THIS SORT OF THING, PLEASE!
