#Berlin ’s #immigration authorities are moving to deport four young foreign residents on allegations related to participation in protests against Israel’s war on #Gaza, an unprecedented move that raises serious concerns over civil liberties in #Germany.
The deportation orders, issued under German migration law, were made amid political pressure and over internal objections from the head of the state of Berlin’s immigration agency. The internal strife arose because three of those targeted for deportation are citizens of European Union member states who normally enjoy freedom of movement between #EU countries.
“You can see it in the U.S. and Germany, too: Political dissent is silenced by targeting the migration status of protesters.”
Some of the allegations are minor. Two, for example, are accused of calling a police officer “fascist” — insulting an officer, which is a crime. Three are accused of demonstrating with groups chanting slogans like “From the river to the sea, Palestine Will be Free” — which was outlawed last year in Germany — and “#freePalestine.” Authorities also claim all four shouted #antisemitic or anti-Israel slogans, though none are specified.

In Trump’s America, You Can Be Disappeared for Writing an Op-Ed
The Trump administration’s detention of Tufts student Rümeysa Öztürk rests on an opinion article she wrote in 2024, her lawyers said in a filing.
https://theintercept.com/2025/03/30/tufts-rumeysa-ozturk-ice-immigration-op-ed/
Over 80% of Israeli Jews support Trump's plan to relocate Gazans, according to a survey by the Israeli-based Jewish People Policy Institute. 43% of Israeli Jews even believe the plan is practical. Only 3% of Israeli Jews believed the plan to be immoral. This is a dramatic shift from the 1990s to early 2000s, when 40-50% of Israeli Jews supported similar proposals to cleans Palestinians from the West Bank.

All over the West, free speech is falling victim to pro-Israel supporters in government and institutions, and anything related to the Gaza genocide is being severely punished and suppressed with the blanket accusation of 'antisemitism'.

I'm going to make this as simple and straightforward as I can make it.
You don't have to agree with Zionism
You don't have to believe that Zionism is Jewish civil rights.
You don't have to agree with the Zionist idea of Jewish self-determination.
But you do have to accept the following:
Holding all Zionists responsible for the actions of a few politicians in a minority government is not just wrong, it's a form of hate.
Zionism has been part of Jewish thought since were forcibly expelled from our homeland 2,000 years ago, and even in its modern form is older than Herzel and the European Zionist movement.
Saying Zionism is a hate group or hateful ideology is disgusting and inverting the meaning of hate.
70-80% of all Jews are Zionists, and Zionists live around the world.
Using minority viewpoints to say what is and isn't part of Judaism is gross and tokenizing.

Sorry I can't find the video, too much crap using the same words on the internet.

The ABC is in urgent need of fundamental reform. Hopefully the Greens can use this as a precondition for lending support to the next Lab minority govt.
"And the rot clearly starts at the top.
During the 20 years of French and American wars in Vietnam, 63 journalists were killed. Over the seven years of World War II, 67 journalists were killed. In just 18 months, Israel has murdered 209 journalists. This is a journalist murderfest more grotesquely deliberate than any other conflict in history.
So how can the Chair of Australia’s public broadcaster swear life-long allegiance to a regime systematically murdering journalists and perpetually lying about its genocide?"

Interview "The Making of the Modern Middle East: History, Politics, & Today’s Turmoil"
Imperial Britain instigated this century-old conflict.
The Europeans merely replaced the Ottomans as colonisers, reneging on their promises of a liberal-democratic, independent Arab state.
In the betrayed Arab states, Muslim fundamentalism etc. were a direct outcome of the colonial "mandate scam".

Quoting Hanin Majadli: Eva Illouz was a mouthpiece for right-wing propaganda, and in response received a slap
Majadli discusses how Israel's Education Minister Yoav Kish disqualified Professor Eva Illouz from receiving the Israel Prize due to what he called her "anti-Israeli ideology." The reason cited was her 2021 participation in a petition to the International Criminal Court in The Hague requesting an investigation into whether Israel committed war crimes in the West Bank.
In response to this disqualification, Illouz stated to Haaretz: "During the last 18 months, I dedicated my energy to writing for the international press with the aspiration to defend Israel. In the most prestigious newspapers in Spain, France, and Germany, I never stopped clarifying that Hamas is a terrorist organization, that Israel had the right to respond to a ground invasion of its territory, that anti-Zionism is an expression of antisemitism, and that the accusations of genocide against it are nothing but a continuation of antisemitic discourse."
Majadli criticizes Illouz for having been a "loyal mouthpiece for the most right-wing Israeli propaganda" for a year and a half, only to be rejected by the state she defended. Majadli argues that there is little difference between Illouz's response to the war and that of any standard Zionist leftist in Israel.
She says that Illouz and other Zionist intellectuals who identify as leftists were focusing on "deciphering esoteric shades of antisemitism in the global left" while diverting attention from the violence being carried out in Gaza. She suggests that Illouz could have gained more respect by refusing any prize from a state that killed tens of thousands civilians in Gaza.
Majadli wonders when will the academic community understand that the "Israel Prize" is not a badge of honor but a mark of disgrace, and characterizes Illouz as symbolizing "the ongoing failure of the Zionist left to understand the State of Israel as it truly is, and not as they would like it to be."

I have never seen credible polling of Australian Jewish communities. All surveys are corrupted or manipulated in some way.
"Framed another way and using the same metrics used by the ZFA [Zionist Federation of Australia],
approximately 94.2% of Jewish students did not report experiencing antisemitism on Australian university campuses in the commissioned survey."
