She doesn't believe in "god." She didn't believe in evil before the events of the book, but she's way more likely to use the word by the time the plot really gets into swing.

I couldn't resist with THAT number...
Evil exists. It's within beings. There's no such as a devil or a thing akin to Satan, evil incarnate. Alexios' doesn't believe in a god or gods. Other characters of mine do, but not him. If a god or a pantheon of gods existed, then what happened to his home planet and its people never would have taken place in the first place. A true god would have been merciful.
Writing brain: why did the first chapter of this new WIP take all damn week to write?
Editing brain: because it’s 9000 words long and introduces literally dozens of characters?
Writing brain: oh, right. Needs some work.
Writing scenes. Making progress. It's time to ignore outlines and Just Write. Find the story beats as I go.
This is good. Wind's at my back. I can finish this draft.
Then: second draft. Phew!

I just finished THE GOBLIN EMPEROR. It starts with a murder mystery, but that's the book is *about* character development, and I'm doing something kind of like that in mine where an action/adventure story is happening, but the tone is emotional, all about relationships.

I think it would become quite clear quite quickly to a reader who's not a left-winger that my stories are not for them. I mean, I don't use the phrase "anarcho-socialist," but it's anarcho-socialist. :)

"Turning Darkness Into Light," by Marie Brennan. It's a well-written epistolary that makes effective use voice (as well as font and style) to convey whose writing we're reading. (Which may show up in my own writing someday, who knows.)

I think I slept about half of yesterday & might as well have slept the other half. Yeah, pretty sure.
After a week of meager sleep, I feel alive again. Now, it’s (past) time to start the final check of Book2 before publishing.

Okay, yes, I had to look up the definition of this word.
I’m not aware of any unintended ones in any of my Ontyre stories, a world of magic with different peoples, history, and customs.
Lesbians in Space: Where No Man Has Gone Before is off to the hardback printers! The release date is June 24th! Hope to get the paperback all set up tomorrow. Also did some work setting up the Space Wizard campaign today. Lots of work behind the scenes!
