Okay I finally had a quiet moment to listen to/watch #CinemabyLeeKnowandSeungmin and first of all how dare they sound so lovely together? (Please do more duets; your voices together are SO nice!) 😍

Second, I'm actually <*chinhands*> at them because oh baby are there *layers* here; this is an ode to STAY, this is an ode to skz, this is an ode to their 7 year long journey to get where they are, this is an ode to being performers with massive stage presence and trying to meet fan expectations while having privacy, this is an ode to each other (both Seungmin and Lee Know to each other, and also them to the other members, I think), an ode to how fame can unanchor you if you're not careful.

"Cinema" is a veeeery deliberate choice of title and theme. And also, the entire framing makes me think of "All the world's a stage / and all the men and women merely players" (from *As You Like It*, Shakespeare); the full monologue is maudlin and bitter, and definitely this song could have taken that bent... but instead...

"And now night after night
When you cannot find your way
I'll be waiting...
Welcome to our Cinema"

It's a comfort show we all know. It's that one we know tugs our heart strings and might make us cry but mostly it's silly and feel good and always says "hey there you are 💕".

Because nobody is SKZ's biggest fan bar SKZ members themselves, remember? They're always the most hype. The most comforting. Always rallying around each other. Everything so far that's knocked out less well-knit groups has just made them closer and stronger and they just keep going and always praise each other and STAY as the reasons they keep going.

Lee Know and Seungmin probably made everyone cry with this song, I would bet you. But I guess those two had a LOT of feelings and felt confident in showing them like this.

We love you Lee Know + Seungmin!!

The #StrayKids making of vid. 🥹🥹 I love how the message they wanted to share with that song was *immediately* obvious on first listen (and yes, Han, there were tears. Also, empathy ow for the spotlight to your eyes there).

Also, Changbin's list of when men are allowed to cry is hilarious (and so obviously "gender norms are bs" mockery lolol). (Also he was the lyricist for this song and skdhehddibf someone hug him.)

I was also, btw, totally right that the nostalgia got to them while filming; you can definitely see it even more in the behind the scenes. (You can also see that going to the #MIROH filming site for that bit absolutely made them feel a bit Miroh-aged again. I.N. and Lee Know were GREMLINS and they only shared a few clips of the gremlin activity. I KNOW there was more. 😂😂😂

(Side note, Lee Know going from shouty squawks to :| "when was this [poster] from I don't remember"? Iconic. Incredibly autistic of him. I love him. 😂😂😂)

Changbin and Hyunjin were just casually roleplaying/flirting. Sirs. Just like that? 😂 0 hesitation. (I'm pretty sure Hyunjin has a "you're so ridiculous ahdjsb stop 😆" laugh SPECIFICALLY just for Changbin, who ofc loves hearing it and does Not stop. Cute.)

(Listen I could breathe and these men will ship themselves with each other. For serious or for fun? Now THAT isn't my place to say and won't ever be.) (Even on the wild bizarre happenchance I somehow got involved in their lives on the personal level, that's not info I'd ever ever share without explicit permission. Full stop.)

Tangent aside! Chan being all sonft about how long they've been SKZ and how they're just gonna keep being SKZ thx.... cuuuute. (This the same man going deliberately shirtless on stage to end his solo??) (Duality of man.)

Tl;dr ❤️✨️Stray Kids✨❤️

Whatever happened to Perl? Back in the day it was wildly popular and was used all over the place. Then there was supposed to be a big rewrite for Perl 6 and that's the last I've ever heard of it. No news, no releases, nothing. For me Python came in and ate Perl's lunch, so I don't miss it at all. Python is better in every way for me. Honestly Perl was a horrible language, but still interesting to see it die so suddenly.
