I just read an opinion piece suggesting that #Canada drop the #corporatetax rate as low as possible to offset the cost of #tariffs and save jobs.

Remember when #Biden spent a year getting corporate tax havens like Ireland to sign on to a minimum corporate tax... Biden really does not get enough credit for getting things done.

Anyways, #Trump pulled out of the agreement, so why not ditch it for Canada and become a tax haven?

@SueDiOh

You're right, at least partly.
At first #Biden said those were only allowed on Ukranian soil. [How ironic, you may only bomb yourself 😩 ] But later, at the time Ukr invaded Kursk [Ru] this ban was lifted, partly. Only that region. Belgorod could be considered nearby. So Ukraine is in the clear.

Meanwhile Biden is gone and Trump is busy brokering a peace deal. So who is going to complain ?

The most interesting part is how the whole thing has been hidden in plain sight.

#ConsumerCredit reached an all time high under the #Biden/ #Harris administration in the #USA. And while they tried to mitigate that somewhat by for instance restructuring programs for #StudentLoans, the double #burden of stagnating #wages and rising #inflation has pushed many households over the edge.

Now #Trump is adding way more inflation to the mix & laying off tens of thousands of govt #workers.

I'm no expert, but this seems like a good sign. Some power sharing now happening in #Syria

Amazing what has happened since a severely weakened Russia stopped propping up Assad. Some credit goes to #Zalenskyy , #Biden and all the other nations supporting #Ukraine fight against Putin's war machine.

The first #Trump admin & the #Biden admin characterized #China as the greatest threat to the #US & postured the force to prepare for & deter conflict in the Pacific region. But #Hegseth’s guidance is extraordinary in its description of the potential invasion of #Taiwan as the exclusive animating scenario that must be prioritized over other potential dangers—reorienting the vast US #military architecture toward the Indo-Pacific region beyond homeland defense.

During the #Biden admin, the #US military & #NATO had both started to treat #GlobalWarming in the Arctic as a matter of real #military concern. Whether that will continue under #Trump is an open question [is it?]. Even as Trump has tried to erase US-govt action on #ClimateChange, when he talks about #Greenland, he’s tacitly acknowledging that rising temperatures are rapidly changing that part of the world—& US interests there.

#Republicans continue to support #tariffs and #tax on benefits with zero evidence their methods will produce any positive effects.
In fact, the evidence pointing to historical errors are profound.

All this hope based on nothing is awesome. I only wish Democrats had half as much hope to invest US national security on. #Biden and #Obama handed Trump a stable economy and Republicans are hell bent on economic destruction.

I thought they were trying to save money 🤔

Under #Trump, the #Consumer #FinancialProtection Bureau #CFPB has dropped nearly a dozen enforcement cases brought during the #Biden admin, ending lawsuits against #banks & #lenders for a variety of financial practices that the #watchdog agency no longer considers #illegal.

But on Wed, the bureau went a step further: It is seeking to GIVE BACK $105k that a #mortgage lender paid to settle #racial #discrimination claims….

Guess who did know… Did you guess Obama? Did you guess Biden?

“The plan, apparently backed by the Biden administration and involving US oil giant Chevron would in effect seal Palestinian energy dependence on Israel.

The US approach is consistent with a strategic framework described in a December 2014 report published under the Obama administration by the US Army War College’s Strategic Studies Institute.”

Finally #Trump responds to a question about the #Signal group chat, but pivots to #propaganda about the success of his admin & the attack — oh & of course finds a way to blame #Biden.

Then “Witch-hunt” “Witch-hunt” “Witch-hunt”

Trump even says “what does #Hegseth have to do with it? He’s doing a great job.”

Oh & then he blamed Signal saying it was broken, didn’t blame his #NationalSecurity ofcls for using it though.

"A list circulating inside the #Energy Dept suggests cutting funding for the development of 4 hydrogen production hubs in mostly Dem-leaning states while maintaining funding for 3 hubs spread across mostly red states...

The cuts, if carried through, would politicize the federal funds that #Congress and the #Biden administration awarded to 7 regional applicants as part of the bipartisan #infrastructure law."
