The Pillar.

Looking the other way from the 'cauldron', there are quite limited spots to stand. If only we could levitate.

Wide angle view from atop a bluff, in portrait layout. Hazy blue skies and distant landscape across a large bay, with cliffs at the left curving around into the near foreground, falling away to the sea-green waters below. A stone pillar stands out along it's edge in centre frame. The weathered cliff walls are lit by a late afternoon sun, highlighting small patches of orange and white lichen. A tripod leg in the far lower left sits hard on the cliff edge. (It wasn't safe enough to hand hold the camera this close to the edge). Whitewater below crashes onto the rocks.

The bluff is a tricky place for land-based photography - trying to get the angle in such limited locations, loose stones and steep cliffs to be wary of.

With extreme caution, I half-crawled down the 45 degree slope, onto the 'platform' in the foreground, to take the shot above. Not much room down there, trust me.

Looking steeply down from a bluff with green seas at the top, cliffs and rocky outcrops in the lower half. The cliff meanders creating a small, heavily sloping platform in the near foreground, which is cliffed on all sides save a narrow 1m wide access. Marram grasses cling to what soil they can find, scattered along the edge. A small wave is breaking against the rocks below, sending spray vertically upwards toward the camera. The sun glistens from the water, it's afternoon glow highlighting the orange lichen on the rocks.

The sound tower (North of Chapel St Leonards) the oddest thing once it's a photo, the lack of detail gives it little sense of scale. #photography #coastal #Lincolnshire

The sound tower from the north, the lighting from this angle makes it stand out much better against the sky. A blue tower stands behind the the sand dunes, about 1/3rd up there there is a slot in the front.

Chasing that blue green look in the turbulence.

I’m back on the internet after being away from home for a week and taking a break from it.

I took this photo from one of the handful of lobstermen’s workshops at the commercial wharf that buys lobsters from the boat I work on. These shops are predominantly used for sanding and re-painting lobster buoys each year and storing gear and spare boat parts.

Vibrant watercolor art print of a foamy wave rolling onto shore. On a warm summer day, the aqua hued ocean, frothy with foam, laps the sandy beach. I painted this using a new color in my arsenal; an emerald green with mica, which produced a nice sparkle in the water.

I especially love to visit beaches on the west coast of Florida and Hawaii, and this painting perfectly captures how I remember waves rolling onto the sand.

Sand in the Makings.

And there's always a red gum leaf.

I was surprised to see all this sandstone appear one day, most of the time it's covered over (by sand) and/or under water. A tide out day here. The dark stones are likely a mix of bluestone (dolerite) and granite, grinding away each day.

Small, dark stones litter grooves in the surface of light coloured sandstone, randomly wavering in semi straight, criss crossing lines away from camera. Wet sand in the upper left reflects a cloudy sky. Image converted to black and white, save a single red gum leaf at the middle lower right.

Grooving the Shoreline.

Had to wait for the sun to pop out, then the light came on.

A downward view, looking along the grooves left by tidal action on a sandy beach. Small rocks lay half buried in the centre and right foreground, their wet edges glistening. Sunlight glows on an area in the middle upper left. Marine life hide in their holes in the sand.
