Day 31 cont 🗳️📝🗣️🔉📺

The caretaker #PM appearing on the #HateMedia (ABC Press club as defined by 🥔🤓), something I can’t remember #PeterDutton doing or being capable of.

“Through everything the world has thrown at #Australia over the last three years, for all the #challenges our #nation has faced, our #government has held true to those enduring Australian #values of #fairness, #aspiration and #opportunity.

It has been less than three years since Australians voted out the #ScottMorrison (ex PM & Minister for Health, Finance, Treasury, Immigration and Holidays) government. My #colleagues and I know there is more work to do. That is what #drives us.” — #AnthonyAlbanese

Half the battle is attendance. ⚔️

Not a bad summary, nothing on environment, trade or defence… but there is #Policy to back this up. No mention of working with Independents, Greens to achieve these aims.

How To Mount A Drive Permanently In Linux Using Fstab: A Step-by-Step Guide

“If you’ve just plugged in an external USB drive to your Linux system and are wondering how to make it accessible, you’re in the right place! Mounting a drive in Linux might sound technical, but it’s actually quite simple once you understand the bas ...continues

There is no magic solution for #archiving #digital #media. Statistically, #thumb #drives and #USB #sticks fail within few years, so will #SSD drives and #flash drives. Consumer grade #HDD may work few years longer but not much. Archive HDD drives will probably work a decade or so but eventually will fail. Creating new copies to constantly updated drives seems to be the best strategy but can suffer from #generation #loss due to physical damages, changing file formats etc. arstechnica.com/gadgets/2024/0

I disliked #jazz #drives
I didn't like the fact that they were so bulky, were proprietary and that they were just fancy mechanical floppies in case in a very unnecessary sturdy package

They also didn't give you any mechanical warning when they were going to give out, so you had to have two more sets of backups to be sure that you're super high density Jazz floppy didn't crash on you at a moment that it was completely unexpected

I never bought them, just data salvage

Went down a rabbit hole today researching how to connect some #sas #hard #drives to the #laptop I have been using for testing drives.

Seems you are #SOL #shitOutaLuck with this approach. Any #USB3 #dockingStations
out there are hit & miss regarding read/access/wiping SAS drives.

Looks as I'll need to build a #workstation for this - perhaps updating my #forensic_workstation for SAS drives, or getting some drive sleds & connecting to the workstation.

#lazyweb - please tell me other approaches I may have missed, other than physical destruction. I believe in reuse, not the throw away consumer approach. #TUVM
