I am not a member of the DC Bar (or any BAR for that matter) but I'll give credit where credit is due.

I am super appreciative of #LegalEagle and his videos, but this is arguably his most important and it isn't very algorithm pleasing so I fear it will fall behind.

But there are #dcbar elections coming up and I'd anyone in the DC Bar sees this, it is crucial you elect #DianeSeltzer as the President to aid in these perilous times, she is far more accredited, and less dangerous than her opponent, none other than the brother of Pam Bondi. He will sell the legal system to #Felon47. Video with more details is attached

Continued thread

If you find the historic voter turnout trend a little depressing, consider this!

I did a quick addition to the tables and found the percentage of votes cast compared to the overall population. The peak? 52.9% and 52.2% of the entire population of Canada voted in….. 2015 and 2019!

Granted some of this effect is demographic as our general population has aged. But consider how far we have come when less than 10% of Canadians voted in the 1800s!

What’s Historical voter turnout in 🇨🇦?
Elections Canada has a nice clear and simple page here with a table featuring population, electors, ballots cast, and percentages in every election and referendum since 1867. 🇨🇦

Excluding referenda, the average since confederation is 70%. Highest was 79.4% in 1958 and others in the 70s in the 1950s/60s.

The lowest was 58.8% in 2008.

Our last election over 70% was 75% in 1988 (Mulroney)
