Not surprised that Intuit, owner of TurboTax lobbied so hard in the past year plus to kill it and I'm sure they'll kill Free File when they have the chance.

So Direct File is basically dead, and I won't be surprised if Free File follows suit. Huge win for Intuit, H&R Block, the rich and powerful and a huge loss for everyone else.

Was pleased to see they had all the deductions already filled in. If I'd had an expensive commute for work, I'd have been able submit receipts to get a deduction above the standard minimum. Same with any non-electronic transactions I might have had. I don't , so I didn't.
