Traveled to the Midwest this week, and I’m definitely feeling like the lone-masker.
Still, the number of people in the last 2 days who’ve said “you’re smart for wearing that”, when referencing the Darth Vader kn94s I’m rocking, is encouraging.
However, I’m puzzled as to why no one else seems to want to join me in the big brain club.

@Bot4Sale @ajsadauskas and would have rambled incoherently on about the benefits of being nuked by "the forces of niceness and goodness" rather than "the forces of evil and rottenness".
I just heard the Get Smart theme tune played as background music in this cafe. Does that make me old?
"Missed it... by that much!"
@girlpocalypse Hooray! I toast you with a glass of Romulan Ale from #StarTrek.
I've been a big fan of secure communications since the 1960`s
Max was smart to insist on The Cone of Silence when he talked to the Chief.
Sure the portable version was awkward, but you didn't have to worry about Man In The Middle attacks!
Several people on #Mastodon who are into #OpSec follow me. I look forward to seeing this #GetSmart photo show up in future secure coms presentations. I hope it gets a laugh.
The issue, ofc, is dreadfully serious & forlorn, yet this choice of pic made me smile happily with fond memories of this wonderful tv comedy series of my highschool arvos.

Pic shows scene from 60s tv comedy classic series "Get Smart", with Agent 86 Maxwell Smart seated on the lhs, across the desk from Chief on rhs. Both are inside the legendary / notorious "Cone of Silence" perspex enclosure lowered over & around them; a long-running motif gag of the series.

GET SMART debuted tonight in 1965.
Would you believe it's not streaming?
But it is on Internet Archive: https://archive.org/details/get-smart
Well, another #movie consumed by the #SuckFairy - we got 10 minutes into #GetSmart (2008) before we hit our limit on fat jokes and misogynistic punchlines. Oh well.
Tried the new #suicidesquadisekai and that was just unnecessarily ultraviolent, and we bounced before a quarter of the way through the first episode.
Landed on Return of the King. Hobbitses!
Tonight in 1969 — GET SMART won its 2nd consecutive Emmy as best comedy series + Don Adams won his 3rd as Maxwell Smart.
The amazing Barbara Feldon — still with us at age 91 — was nominated but she…missed it by that much. (Sorry about that.)
@realTuckFrumper
Ahh, it's the old "died of a heroin overdose while watching animal porn and your auto company has gone to shit so you play the sentient humanoid card" trick, #Ninetynine.
"He was wonderful to work with.” — Barbara Feldon
Actor, comedian, voice artist, and 3-time Emmy winner Don Adams (1923-2005) was born on this day.
Happy 91st birthday to #BarbaraFeldon, Agent 99 on #GetSmart. And no, I'm not related to Maxwell. The clip is from Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In April Fool's Day 1968 episode, rebroadcast recently.
