"It was widely believed that a local landmark was created on #GoodFriday. The twin peaks of Mynydd Ysgyryd Fawr (The Skirrid).

Legend has it that at the moment of the crucifixion, there was a great earthquake near Abergavenny which caused part of the summit to collapse, giving it the staggered shape it has today.

This legend resulted in the mountain becoming an important place of medieval pilgrimage. Its English name. ‘Skirrid’ is an anglicisation of the Welsh word ‘Ysgyryd’ meaning ‘shake’."

Happy #GoodFriday! My favorite holiday in the Catholic calendar despite my detestation of the Roman Catholic church and the agnosticism I developed while attending Catholic high school.

A large part of my passion (heh) for this holiday is the music. First up is St John's Passion, then St Matthew's Passion, both by Bach. After that, we shall see.
