"The Haunting of Hill House" von Shirley Jackson. Das kann man zu den Klassikern der Schauerliteratur mit Spukhäusern zählen, es ist 1959 erschienen und wurde bereits mehrmals verfilmt.
Das Buch ist sehr atmosphärisch und literarisch geschrieben. Das düstere Hill House wirkt dabei wie ein weiterer Protagonist, weil es so lebendig beschrieben wird.

I am looking for #gothic (horror) novels by contemporary authors. I don't care if the setting is historical (for instance Regency, Victorian or Edwardian) or contemporary.
I am NOT looking for generic horror, but books with a gothic horror feeling.
I already have some books on my wish list, but I'd love to get more recommendations.
