I've been really enjoying working with #11ty #eleventy lately.
A few other things I've made:
- a #looptober community website: https://looptober.glitch.me
- a list of creative challenges anyone can join: https://challenges.stefanbohacek.com
- a tribute page for an author of one of my favorite quotes: https://larrywalterstribute.page
Looking forward to sharing what I've learned and helping more people contribute to our shared web!

I guess this is sort of a late looptober? or early??
I haven't been very active in the community this year, I'm afraid, but I did make https://looptober.glitch.me, if anyone wants to nominate it, once the nominations are open.
i just noticed that in the instagram post of one of my looptober tracks, a pure drone piece with no vocals, instagram's automatic captioning appears to have heard the synths saying "hi, you" (they kind of do say "hi, you"!)
This might be the first year that I never touched a real instrument for looptober - every track was made 100% on screens. Even the samples were all downloaded from freesound, except my snoring pup and Rob's scrub.
I didn't do it that way on purpose but it sure is easier not to set up microphones and audio interfaces and all that!
Looptober wrapup! I only really dislike 3 or 4 of my tunes this year, and am pretty proud of most of the rest. And I'm proud that the 31 tracks are in 20 or so different genres. I feel like most casual music makers tend to stick with one or two genres, but I'm too scatterbrained for that.
Also I love spreadsheets, so I made a spreadsheet. Please give me your suggestions for genres if you have opinions - my assignments are very tentative.
One final #Looptober flashback post:
For anyone who missed some of my Looptober 2013 oscilloscope video posts, or anyone who'd like to listen through them in sequence, I've provided a convenient YouTube playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZztZnPjep13UakT7_538TdcYUFzPrrBL
And if you'd like to hear some of my other, longer-form music, there's a playlist for all of that also: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZztZnPjep10swd0e71lwTqAUw-LUx2_r
Thank you all so much for listening – it really means a lot to me!
Darn, I missed #looptober.
and finally...
#looptober 31
haunted goa trance with my favorite undead music software, SuperCollider 2 #SuperCollider #algorave #livecoding #RetroComputing #MacOS9
So here's my last loop. Viewers may recall I put a slightly faulty MPC Live II on eBay last week. Someone bought pretty quickly, leaving a space on my desk, so I filled it with an ASM Hydrasynth Desktop. It's a lot to explore, so this is a bit of suitably spooky fiddling with a very atmospheric preset. This month has been a lot of fun and I've surprised myself with what I can do if pushed. https://music.bedlamsteps.uk/looptober2024/31/ #looptober #looptober24
Making space on Sir Dancelot and clearing out some loops I made on it a while back. Happy #looptober #ep1320
And finally, #Looptober number 31. I had downloaded a pack of free Halloween-themed samples, so I was checking them out and started playing with a drone, gating it, chopping it up, etc. Then I decided to make this entire loop using only that sample pack.
It did not come with drums, by the way.
And now, the final #Looptober flashback video, titled "Where Are We Going?" This one is not only the longest loop of the bunch, but the most unique in that it's wholly made up of smaller loops. (It seemed fitting for the last day.) I composed it using a composition tool called "Chordbot" on my Android phone. I still use it as my main ringtone!
Enjoy!
