Monsters in a Teacup
Humans aren't the only ones who enjoy a spot of tea now and again. Little monsters have been know to slip quietly into kitchens when no one is around and sneak a sip or two of freshly brewed sweetness. Alas, some of these tiny creatures may become so enamored with the tea, that they sip themselves silly and fall into a state of euphoria, causing all manner of behavior.

GORGEOUS MONSTERS & THEIR PETS
Welcome to my new interview series. I am the official human spokesperson for the Guardian Monster Guild, editor of the "Monster Times & Review" and author of the glamorous tell-all book, "What Monsters Want". These are hard-won credentials that I have worked tirelessly to obtain. As an ordinary human being, entering the realm of Monsterdom requires a rigorous determination, and an ego that can survive all manner of taunts, threats and indignation. In a stark brownish room, in front of a wallpaper decorated with symbols, sits a rather unusual, disgruntled pinecone-shaped creature on a Chenille upholstered bench. Grasped in one of its multiple claws, a broken piece of blue yarn. This explains the mildly distressed expression on its face, with is barely hidden within the cone. Underneath the chair, the full skein safely resides, away from its occupants ire. You cannot hear it, but it is growling without humor. I highly recommend staying far away, for the time being. :-)

Monsters have babies too.
Baby monsters are even harder to find than the elusive "baby" pigeon. Very few folks can say that they've seen them, let alone created their portraits. I have been lucky. As you might imagine, monster parents can be a bit protective. Mothers in particular. They consider us (humans) more than a bit strange and potentially dangerous. It took most of my free time, lots of monster "treats" and carefully followed Monster Etiquette to befriend just a few of them. Even then, I felt a bit nervous and on edge as I made sketches of their most beloved offspring. It is always a good idea to remind oneself that monsters are ultimately unpredictable creatures, and should be given proper respect at all times.

It nervously stares (at me) with large bulging eyes, while the other hand is clamped firmly in its mouth.
