I'm in a friend group where people regularly share articles and TikToks etc claiming all kinds of findings.

I am that person who then tries to find the sources of the original information, then reads academic papers to gauge if the "headlines" that are shared can actually backed up by proper science.

In this process, I often find myself uttering the words "I hate to be this person again, but... *in mice*. They did *one* small study with *mice* and found an effect *in mice*."

I love this.

:boost_requested: I need to get a new computer mouse, my Logi MX Master 3 is heavily stained, rubber crumbling and the battery is living is on its final breaths :neocat_sad:

From generation 1-3 the MX Master has been great, but with the same problem throughout: it stains horribly (regardless of colour).

While it's clear to me that I (apparently) have quite acidic sweat, I'm unsure how to account for it so that my mice don't look all yucky.

I have three requirements:

  1. It must have >=2 side-buttons
  2. It must be wireless
  3. It must be able to connect to 3 devices

Thoughts @ fedi?

Do any of you on the Fediverse know about #Repair of computer #Mice ? (I wish I knew what tags to use for this...) I have a #Razer mouse (and before anyone gives me any guff about Razer, yeah they suck, but I need a mouse of a certain sort of profile or I get severe hand pain and guess who just happened to make the right one?) It's the "Viper Ultimate" a small lightweight mouse that I bought "renewed" back in 2022 and it has served me well until just recently.

Lately the mouse wheel now has a "bounceback" where it randomly jumps the opposite direction when I'm rolling it. (Eg if I scroll up it will randomly scroll down some sometimes or vice versa.) I opened it up to clean it, but it doesn't use the usual sensor. It's some sort of enclosed rolling switch.

#Mice with two #dads have been created using #CRISPR
Chinese scientists have created mice with #genetic material from two males that survived to adulthood, marking a potential breakthrough in reproductive biology. Researchers at CAS used CRISPR gene editing to target 20 #genes involved in embryonic development, producing seven live pups from 164 embryos. The surviving mice grew larger than normal, had enlarged organs, were infertile and had shorter lifespans.
