Paweł Góralski:atari:nokturnal<p>Short summary regarding my progress with interfacing various OPL2/3 devices with 16-bit Atari&#39;s. <a href="https://nokturnal.pl/2023/12/opl3-play-preview-for-atari-st-and-up" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">nokturnal.pl/2023/12/opl3-play</span><span class="invisible">-preview-for-atari-st-and-up</span></a>. <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/opl2" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>opl2</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/opl3" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>opl3</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/opl3lpt" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>opl3lpt</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/opl2lpt" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>opl2lpt</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/opl3express" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>opl3express</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/atarist" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>atarist</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/atari" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>atari</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/adlib" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>adlib</span></a> Bit banging rules, usb not so ;)</p>
Paweł Góralski:atari:nokturnal<p>So opl3lpt support added. I&#39;ve got some issues with it mostly with second opl3 address line setting and found an error on opl3lpt adapter, which resulted in no sound output from opl3 on STs . And of course gcc decided that will fuck up executable with optimisations enabled (like i didn&#39;t have other problems). After launching tos program i was greeted with blank console and blinking cursor... I thought that after opl2lpt, opl3 version will be just a formality... <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/atarist" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>atarist</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/opl2lpt" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>opl2lpt</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/opl3lpt" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>opl3lpt</span></a></p>
Paweł Góralski:atari:nokturnal<p>One long evening and I&#39;ve adapted OPL3Duo!/Arduino/RPi OPL2.play (vgm, dro, imf simple, console player) to work with my custom opl2/3 driver / interface layer. I can replay tunes via USB OPL3 Express under Windows. In theory it should also work under Linux / Atari TOS (via USB / centronics). Timings are off probably due to crude delays via Sleep() and friends in original player. I&#39;m on fire like freshly arsoned, christian church ⛪ 🔥 😜 <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/OPL2" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>OPL2</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/OPL3" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>OPL3</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/AtariST" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>AtariST</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/OPL3Express" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>OPL3Express</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/OPL3LPT" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>OPL3LPT</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/OPL2LPT" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>OPL2LPT</span></a></p>
Paweł Góralski:atari:nokturnal<p>Little round up of my ongoing quest for hardware OPL2/3 chip support on :atari: Atari ST and up: <a href="https://nokturnal.pl/2023/07/atari-st-opl3-cartridge-design-opl3-duo-interfacing-opl3-express-support" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">nokturnal.pl/2023/07/atari-st-</span><span class="invisible">opl3-cartridge-design-opl3-duo-interfacing-opl3-express-support</span></a> . I&#39;m getting there, slowly...
