These flowers just burst out of the top of a wall covered in moss, ferns and sedums. #Bloomscrolling #PDX

TIL the Portland Ritz Carlton hotel, which #pdx's most beloved food cart pod was dismantled to make room for, now houses a food court because the hotel remains unprofitable
Metro voted to approve the Rose Quarter freeway expansion project.
#PDX
TIL "road guy rob"
posts in-depth vids about road projects across the US, including how bike lanes and mass transit get built into them
last month, he released a new video on the interstate bridge between #pdx and vancouver, WA
does an AMAZING job talking about the balance OR and WA wants, light rail, hayden island, height requirements for boats, and even airspace (!) because of a nearby airport
vid is half an hour but well worth it if you live in the PDX area
Twelfth stop on #52coffeeshopsin52weeks is Flour Bloom on E Burnside and Grand!
Music was early ‘00s (Britney Spears!), which is what I listen to, anyway. Coffee was great. Got a ham and cheese croissant, and the latticework on top was so pretty!
Ordered some cookies to go.
The entire shop is beautiful and the most femme (sapphic?) space I have physically existed in for years.
I have followed them on Instagram for months (years?) and should have come in sooner!
hahahaaaaaaa the electrical problems on the streetcar at PSU are persisting, apparently #pdx
We demanded an unarmed Portland Street Response, to deal with public nuisances and people in crises, so the cops won't kill so many people. The old City Council dragged their feet underfunded it, tried every bureaucratic trick to kill it
We defeated the Columbia River Crossing, highway expansion/bridge to Washington. Now ODOT are back with a plan to spend billions called the Interstate Bridge Replacement, but you can still see where CRC has been crossed out and the new name written in.
We decriminalized drugs, then the wealthy and their cops camped out in the legislature until they were re-criminalized.
Seems to me we've got a problem with a lack of democracy in Oregon.

I grew up around thunderstorms but️ is not common here in #pdx . So today when a bolt hit 200-300 meters from our house it was pandemonium… our teens screaming, running around, dog barking.
It made me happy they could (safely) experience that. #lightning
#PDX folks!
