Island inhabited by penguins was hit by tariffs. Texans can support them by buying pebbles.

Trump announced tariffs on April 2, or as he coined it, "Liberation Day," in an attempt to erase trade deficits between the U.S. and other countries. Naming 180 countries and regions, he included some regions and islands that are predominately uninhabited or have little to no exports.

One island, Heard Island, is inhabited entirely by seals and penguins. Janelle Mais reached out to some of her friends, including Milla Novak, about "helping" the penguins on Heard Island make their entry into international trade.
Heard Island, despite being uninhabited and having no exports, was among the 180 countries and regions included in President Trump's Liberation Day tariffs. Now, thanks to three New Zealand entrepreneurs, you can buy pebbles to support Heard Island's penguins.

"Girlfriend" - Pebbles

It's spiky, stuttery R&B, with an winding insistent groove. Lovely call-and-response section near the end. Very much of its time,

Visually coherent, too. Off-the-shoulder purple dress that would get her into any goth club, and moody lighting - Pebbles keeps appearing in near-shadow.

One and only hit for her, even fewer than her cousin Cherelle. We'll meet writer and producer Babyface a lot. Yuk-yuk!
