I am in awe of all the prosthetic makeup-wearing actors in the new series.</p><p>In her words…</p><p>“ elenajuatco<br> To make my custom face prosthetic on @startrek, they needed to take a mold of my face. It was a 45 minute process where they covered me from my head to my shoulders in several layers of warm, heavy goop, leaving me only two holes for my nostrils so I could breathe. I didn’t expect the process to be this intricate, and when they explained it to me when I arrived, my voice got high and pitchy, I suddenly got very thirsty, and I suddenly needed to pee A LOT. “Maybe this is what it’s like to get buried alive…” I thought at one point. But thankfully I remembered that I can breathe. And that I can choose my thoughts.
