DaVinci Resolve is a proprietary color grading, color correction, visual effects, and audio post-production video editing application.

While DaVinci Resolve is free to download, it requires a video graphics card. There is a paid version called "DaVinci Resolve Studio" that costs $295.

If you are working on #macOS using #DaVinci #Resolve and struggle with getting your output match what you see in Resolve you might want to check these settings.
Also make sure that your Output Color Space and Gamma is set to 'Use timeline'.

Okay so how do I sync video and audio clips in #Resolve so that the resulting clip is named after the audio file (that has slate numbers in the filename)? #postchat

Finally found a way to transfer timelines between #Resolve (so, everything) and #Avid both ways with only linked media (original camera files) via AAF, without generating any new media files. Took me like 6 hours (to find out, not to do) but did it!

#davinci #resolve afficionados can tell me what I'm doing wrong. I export a simple test sequence as AAF (no media). I reimport it back and GET A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SEQUENCE. What?

Any idea why #Resolve doesn't show these obviously offline clips in the Index??

So my #DavinciResolve install I just redid is having an issue where my whole desktop freezes for a second or two when I do ANYTHING in it. And then its fine.

Uh... How do I stop that?

I am syncing the original files & BMPG-generated proxy Files with
#ResilioSync . I want to use BM Cloud for Proxy Files, Timelines, & Power Bins, but I'm unsure how to configure it.

I keep doing it wrong.

Petition to have it so Blackmagic Design has Linux users pay separately for AAC audio codec support as an add-on to Resolve Studio so at least there's a way for Linux users to have all the codecs easily if they want them and make it so the cost doesn't have to increase for anyone else. This doesn't excuse patents existing, in this case patents for math, I just want easy AAC usage.

Progress of the OTIO C++ export is coming along nicely. A single #Kdenlive timeline with multiple tracks and clips exported as .otio can now be opened in Resolve.

This #BandcampFriday I get the album "Human (Extended Cut)" by #Resolve.

I saw the band as a supporting act this year for the first time. They play some in-between of #progressive #metalcore and #PostHardcore, with a lot of melody but also some on-the-nose parts.

I just found out that working with #GoPro LRV files as proxy clips is much more straightforward in #Kdenlive than in #DaVinci #Resolve.

Seit 2 Wochen nutze ich das Video Tool #DaVinci #Resolve Studio. Ich bin echt kein Experte und ja auch kein Cutter oder Mediengestalter, sondern Journalist, der seit 1997 als einer der ersten VJs beim WDR auch selber produziert.
Ich würde mich aber gerne über meine Learnings austauschen. Gibt es hier noch andere interessierte?

I'm finally able to run DaVinci Resolve 19 with a dedicated #Intel #ARC #GPU on my #Debian. It required various latest Intel compute libraries from Intel's github to get it working (v24.39+), and some Resolve libraries removed from its folder (so it'd pickup the system libs instead). #Blender needed one additional Intel package to get going too. Overall, an hour spent figuring it out, but I now have acceleration.
