Trying to find a way of making a Radial Array of Objects, and placing it on a surface.
So far, Geometry Nodes seem to suit me best.
1) make your spaceship, with slopy bits.
2) make the shape to array onto it
3) Make the rest of the owl!
Erm, i mean make geo Node structure on the item to add.
a) Make a Curve Circle, and Instance Item on Points.
b) Align Rotation to Vector (Normal)
c) plug stuff into Group Inputs

Spaceship initial idea.
Following @pidgeon_pete 's suggestion, I'm trying out some Modifiers to base Ships around. This one is "Array".

Added feature-pack "Random Stuff" :D

I'm slowly getting the hang of this Workflow, but always open to suggestions, (constructive) criticism, opinions, and feedback.

Fancy-Pants paint-job has pushed render time up to 36 seconds.
