Finished the Piper for the #Sylvaneth tree reverents after acquiring a gas mask guy. I am concerned that I used too much yellow on the skin, but, that's another #miniPainting mini finished either way.

Painted the base rim at lunch, then picked out the top of the Vine with fuchsia making the whole thing just come together as far as I'm concerned. That's a good one done.

Assembled a #Sylvaneth Scion as a tester and then took lessons from that to assemble a Piper in a better way - i.e. I didn't glue the model to the base because I still needed to sculpt it out of various crap around my desk. Recorded everything from the first model with the intent of youtubeing it, but, just recorded the base assembly for the second because I think that's going to be only thing worth sharing.

Aus gegebenen Anlass bin ich dieses Wochenende zu nicht viel kreativen gekommen.

Aber ich habe es zumindest geschafft, vier meiner #sylvaneth #Miniaturen fertig zu stellen. Das heißt, die letzten Schwämmchen auf die Astspitzen zu kleben.

Finished! I think the recipes for my winter themed #sylvaneth is pretty well locked in.

Main bark/skin is done, now I am just working on the “hair”, loincloth, weapon, and basing.

Wash and Drybrush 2 which leaves the majority of the skin/bark complete. Are you all liking this paint scheme so far? See where it is going? ;)

Made some progress and I think I know where I am going here with this theme.

It Came from the Lightbox: Sylvaneth Spearhead

Breaking my catch-up of unposted painted model picks: I finished these guys yesterday and got them into the lightbox this morning.

Got a bug up my butt about the leaves looking kind of elm-y and that elms have a beautiful golden yellow in autumn… and with as frigid as it’s been the last few weeks it was tough to think about painting these green and spring-like. So: autumnal.

I’m quite happy with how they came out, though getting that golden yellow took many, many, many coats. I think the results are worth it, though.

Very displeased with the models themselves, however: all those branches and arrows are incredibly fragile. If you look closely you can see all bits that broke off while painting them.

Two evenings of painting in one week? Wow, it must be Christmas or something.
Anyway, I've added some green (did the moss, started the grass) and touched up some places where white had apparently... splashed.
Youtubers talk about the intentionality of each brush stroke meanwhile I'm splashing paint all over my "finished" work when painting details.
