I hope she’s gone somewhere nice for her vacation.

Nobody needs to be unemployed in this country.

You can always get a job sitting outside Burger bars asking for spare change.

When you're #unemployed, why not build a thing to track your #job applications?

Data is not 100% accurate (perhaps, 80% accurate haha), but I like it still.

I just want everyone to understand that is not actively job hunting just how bad the overall job market is right now. Can you tell that I was ghosted yet again, from a situation that I have no control over?

As of this evening I am now #unemployed. (Contract ran out.)

There is a small chance that I might come back to TU/e, but that depends on funding and that doesn’t look great right now. In other words: If you are looking for a cryptographer (with Dutch PhD-equivalent) specialized in post-quantum key-exchange protocols in the Netherlands or fully remote (I am currently somewhat tied to staying in the Dutch healthcare system), feel free to contact me.

Today's "I'm laid off and running out of things to do" task. Potting some wild plants from the backyard. Every spring we get these beautiful flowers wild in the lawn which I believe are Viola sororia.

Anywho, now they're in my room making it even beautiful.

There is still no income. The body's health is suffering severely due to being stuck living in unsafe conditions.

I'm a programmer at heart, but I've also been looking for regular entry-level jobs because there haven't been any coding positions open at my level as far as I could tell.

Today's "I'm laid off and bored" project.

Figured a torii gate for my desk would be really nice. So why spend $10 and buy one when I could 1) Pinch the skin between my thumb and finger between a hammer and chisel. 2) Make a mess everywhere. 3) Aggravate my lower back pain by bending over chiseling. 4) Realize how much of a pain in the ass cutting a mortice in a round dowel is.

Thankfully wood filler exists.

I suppose I should do this now it's the weekend.

I am officially #unemployed as of 17.00 today.

I intend to remain so until I am once more able to write code for myself. (Or, I guess, until I decide that it's not going to happen and I find another career).

Time for a Luny Rant (you know a problem shared.). So I applied to go back to my previous job (Medium friendly company owned by large corp. Group), had the interviews and did well. Everyone in the company wants me back. But the final offer has to be signed of by the owner of the group, as he likes to micro-manage everything. Its been six weeks since the CTO signed off my offer. The managers in the company have tried escalations and diplomacy to get him to sign off. It is very frustrating as I'm currently unemployed due to redundancy and only getting a few interests in the market. I'd really like to go back, its work I'm good at, should never have left but its a long complicated story why. #rant #unemployed #frustration
