So: I bought a physical copy of #Xenoblade Chronicles X from Nintendo.com; it arrived 3 days later. I plugged it into my Switch, launched it, and started playing without having to download any additional data.

MORE OF THIS SORT OF THING, PLEASE!

Oh god, I almost forgot #VGMWednesday

Well, it should be no mystery that I have been playing #XenobladeChroniclesX recently and that I have a teeny tiny obsession with the OST. Especially... the music in new LA.
I bet you thought I was going to say Uncontrollable. Which is true. I love that track.

But I have spent a lot of time quietly jamming out to the music in new LA. Especially the day theme.

Honestly, this is probably hit and miss. But for some reason, I do love this track. In fact, I think the entire game's soundtrack is an absolute treat!

I mean, I will be honest when I first heard it again after all these years I was hit by a warm nostalgia. And everything so far has just been a delight.

It's finally time for my playthrough (and abject overanalysis) of Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition for the Nintendo Switch.

This will be a long rambling thread, and I'll use the #JSSXCX tag so that it's easy to mute! And I'll CW each toot for spoilers.

I have done this before for #XenobladeChronicles3, collecting over 20,000 screenshots and discussing finer points of (the first half) of the game (so far), which can be read at bigraccoon.ca/articles/xc3

There's no way I can express what makes such an outstanding game series. The imaginative worlds, great cast of characters, the memes, wonderful music, rewarding combat systems and fans losing their shit over a radio.

Continued thread

I admit it's a bit weird having a silent protagonist for once in a game, but the compromise of character customization makes it worth it. That and the fact that everyone immediately registers a nod from you as an answer - even if they're not looking at you. :D
