Two of those announcements turned out to be real, but one was a prank.</p><p>I also saw three companies announce super-wide yo-yos today, and honestly I don't know if any of those are real or not. This weird little <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/yoyo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>yoyo</span></a> has free-spinning caps on the sides. It's a lot harder to control than a normal yo-yo, but I had fun messing around.</p>

The second we got off the train, I started playing with my <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/yoyo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>yoyo</span></a> and this stranger walks buy and asks “have you heard of Doctor Popular?”. I said “that’s me” and we chatted for a minute. It turns out I was talking to <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/AndySinger" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AndySinger</span></a>, a cartoonist from Minneapolis that was a major influence on me and my art. It’s funny we bumped into each other in a town neither of us live in. I’ll write more about him, and the impact he had on my life, soon.</p>
