since i'm in charge of the keyboard layouts here at mnt, i thought "why not make a nice experimental and maybe a bit chaotic layout for my own fresh purple mnt reform standalone keyboard?" turns out: i cannot identify the primary letters because i haven't prioritized them. my maximalism got in the way again... so i'm going to do a little redesigning 👀 i still like what i did though, even if it turned out to be unusable :D

mnt reform standalone keyboard in a dark room. the backlight shows beautifully. i centered the keys, so most of them show a gradient. (white/grey) most keys show at least 2 letters that have the same size. some of the special characters are grouped in pairs of 2 (so 4 characters per key in total). it looks cool, but using this layout is very confusing.

i reworked the layout, now it's perfect 💜

overhead shot of the mnt standalone keyboard in a dark room with purple lighting. the keys have a white backlight which gives a cyber vibe. :3 most keys show only one letter this time (instead of 2-4 last time) only the number row and some special characters on the right have 2 visible letters. however, there are more letters and characters lasered on the bottom of every main key. (ca. 70% of the keys) since the backlight is located at the top of the rows, these bottom lasered characters are barely visible. it's super cool because i can see them if i want to, but they don't get in the way when i'm typing.

@holo_memory @mntmn Where did you find a Ctrl key to replace the fn key in the lower left? I remapped my board but the labels are all wrong.

@hardcoreufo this is entirely custom-made, i edited the layout in our inkscape file and we lasered the keycaps accordingly. currently we're not offering the ctrl key that i have, but you can send a request to support and ask :)
