Setting aside my recent experience with two #SteamDeck lemons, I’m all for exploring the potential of replacing #Windows for PC and handheld gaming.
Yeah a lot of games don’t support #steamOS and won’t for a while, including one of my mains, #Destiny2. But what’s here so far is really good, and I’m sure it will only grow. #Valve #Steam

@InfiniteHench I disagree with the linked article on a key point:
Manufacturers aren't locked in to ship Windows until current SteamOS versions get released. There are many other Linux distributions, some of them nearly identical to SteamOS, like Bazzite.
Manufacturers intentionally choose to ship Windows.
@soulsource Huh, I don’t see where that statement is made. But noe you have me wondering how broadly SteamOS can get 3rd party adoption. I wager most manufacturers want to stick with the OS with the broadest appeal. Maybe that’s part of why Proton exists.
